Hey!! I'm so excited to be doing this!! This will be so fun! Ok, so I'm a little late to the game due to being out of the country and all (hence the title of my post, if you didn't catch that). So, literally just found out about it, but it's going to be so great!! I love this idea! Ok, I will try not to use as many exclamation marks from here on out.
But, I do have a purpose for posting. I think the thing I struggle with the most is motivation! (I know I said I would ease up on the exclamation marks, but I felt that statement really needed one.) But really, it's like what Aly said, I get so motivated to do something but by the time it comes time to do it I have talked myself out if and then just don't want it do it. Ever. And most of the time I get this surge of motivation comes when I'm at work or busy otherwise. Suggestions?? I could really use them. I have started helping dad (as of today) in the garden and I feel like that is something I really enjoy doing, but it doesn't produce a lot of results. However, there were several times when my arms were burning from doing things, so that's cool.
To sum it up. I need help. What are some things that you guys have done to get yourselves out the door and MOVING!?
Thanks family!! Love you! Love this! So great!

Some "Sweet" New Snacks!
Hi Everyone! This is Jerrica AGAIN! (maybe someone else should post on this baby eh?)
Aly, Olivia, Oscar, and I just got home from a nice little 2 mile walk! We are loving having the green belt right outside of our apartment. I mean who wouldn't want to take a nice afternoon walk along this beautiful trail?!
P.S. What has everyone else been doing to get ready for the 5k? I feel like it is time for me to step up and try a little jog instead of a daily walk. Thoughts?
James, Aly, and I are all going strong on our "no sugar" cleanse. Yes it has only been a week, but I am feeling very optimistic! Is any one else doing this that I don't know of? The only sugar I have craved the last few days has been for a Dr. Pepper... and that's a heck of a lot better than the row of Oreo's I ate not too long ago. :) I was talking to Aly about what kind of snacks I could eat when I get a sugar craving or to keep myself from getting overly hungry. She had a lot of good suggestions. All I can say is I am in love!
First with light thick and creamy strawberry yogurt! (I like the thick and creamy because it doesn't have the gross little chunks of fruit in it haha) This cup only has 100 calories in it, and it totally satisfies my cravings. Aly told me that she adds a little bit of granola to her yogurt, I have been adding just a little bit to my cup the last few days and it is delicious!
Next is my VERY favorite, again, this was suggested by Aly. Frozen grapes! Yum! We bought a bag of grapes two days ago, put them in the freezer in a bowl over night and they were all gone by last night. James, Aly, and I, along with some of the sells reps ate them all up while playing Wizard last night. The thing I love about these is that they kind of remind me of eating a popsicle. I love eating frozen things on a summer day. I also love the idea of just putting them in a bowl in the freezer because I can just grab a couple quickly, a good munchie treat throughout the day.
What are your favorite healthy snacks?

Hi familia!!
So no one has been posting so I decided to start the trend!! James and I are starting a 30 day sugar cleanse on June 4! We are only including added sugar in this. You can still eat fruit. We know it is going to be difficult so we invite anyone and everyone to join in with us! That way we can help make sure we are all sticking to it! Let me know if you are going to do it with us.
Love you all!

WELCOME!:)
Hey Family!
I have been thinking a lot about this lately and I, personally, want to get more active, fit and healthy. I just want an overall healthier lifestyle. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long, long time and each time I attempt to actually start exercising and eating healthy on a regular basis... it doesn't last long.
The other day I was watching The Biggest Loser and once again, I was inspired! But I noticed that before I even committed myself, I gave up because I figured I would just fail again.
I thought maybe if I have a support system, I could do it and who better to have as my support system then my biggest support system... my family!:)
Sooo... I want to know if you guys will do this with me? This is my road to a healthier lifestyle and I obviously can't do it alone.
I thought maybe we could use this blog to share our struggles and progress along the way. We could all make monthly goals that we could break down into bite size pieces and set specific weekly goals that will help us accomplish our monthly goals and be each others support group and accountability partners to make that happen!
Also, I think it would be fun to share healthy tips with each other and healthy recipes and just be each others support group along the way to getting healthy. (because let's be honest, we all need it.)
And then, in September, we could all run a 5k together as a family! There are a few 5k's going that month, but I think it would be fun if we ran the 'Strides for Autism' but I'm definitely open to doing whatever!
I am opening this up to everyone in the family who wants to join. I asked a few of you already if this is something you would want to do with me, and so far Mom, James, Jerr, and Amy said they are on board! So I'm hoping everyone joins us in our journey!!
Obviously, I won't force you to do it and I will still love you if you don't, I just think the bigger the support group, the better for all of us! We all love and want what is best for each other and, of course, we all want us to be around for as long as possible, so I figured we might as well do our part to make that possible.
Love you all,
Aly
If you want in, go ahead and just send me a facebook message with your goal for this month and what you'll do weekly to achieve it and I'll put your picture up as well as your goal written underneath (look at examples on the right) and I'll also set up a section for you on the 'Weekly Reports' page and add you as an author to the blog! :) WOO!
